Peregrine has been a blessing for our family. We moved our Mom into Peregrine Senior Living on Onondaga Hill when Mom was 100 years old and diagnosed with dementia. We realized she was not safe to be left alone and searched for just the right place for her to live. Mom is now 102 years old and has lived at Peregrine for almost 2 years. The staff and administration are welcoming, caring and competent; they truly love our Mom. She is so well cared for in every way. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure Mom is safe and comfortable. The activities available for residents are engaging and delightful, from music presentations to bingo, games, bowling, crafts, baking and weekly Friday Happy Hours. Special occasions, holidays and birthdays are celebrated for Mom and all the residents. Mom has resident friends who she eats meals with, and the food is appealing and delicious. Mom receives her medications appropriately, and is checked on often. Her room is clean and lovely, with a large bathroom that is easily accessible to Mom with her walker. The staff help her with showers, toileting, and activities of daily living. My sister and I visit Mom frequently, but also feel comfortable that she is well taken care of when we are unable to visit. Mom has her hair washed and set ever Monday in the Beauty Salon, and has her toenails clipped by a podiatrist as needed. The staff also tend to her fingernails and give hand massages regularly. I am contacted when needed by the medication tech or the staff, and have never had a problem with communication. I receive emails from administration and the activities director with updates and important information. I attend Family Support Meetings and Zoom online support meetings. The staff understands that Mom is confused about her memory loss but they are well trained to care for her when she has questions. Our family has no regrets about moving Mom into Peregrine, because we know she is loved, well cared for and safe now that we are no longer able to take care of her at home. I highly recommend Peregrine for your loved one who is diagnosed with memory loss and dementia.
